A joint call from PHC, the British Dietetic Association and X-PERT Health for NICE to reflect current evidence on low-carb approaches to Type 2 diabetes.
Alongside colleagues from the British Dietetic Association (BDA) and X-PERT Health we have written an open letter to NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) urging them to update their type 2 diabetes guidelines. In essence, despite significant advancements in dietary research related to type 2 diabetes management, the dietary recommendations within NICE guidelines have remained unchanged since 2009.
NICE have confirmed receipt of this letter and have stated that its content will be discussed with the relevant teams. This is a good start, but we want to continue raising awareness of this issue by collecting stories of remission. Whether you're someone who has put their type 2 diabetes into remission or a clinician who's helped someone put their type 2 diabetes into remission, we invite you to submit your story via our contact page.
